Randall Raar - Update
For the last few months I have been in contact with a woman who claims to be the ex-sister-in-law of Randall Raar. Mrs. X (so I will call her in my posts) seems very nice and level-headed. I have not been able to verify her identity, but the information she has provided seems legit and would correlate with someone who knew Randall Raar in such a capacity. Anything I quote or comment on based on her information may be considered accurate and true, yet it should be understood by all readers that it is unvalidated information. From what I can tell so far based on our correspondence and her stance on Raar's feelings about his case, Mrs. X is the real deal. If I can confirm her identity for fact I will inform the readership but I want to be clear about my source of information regarding Randall Raar and her opinions of him.
Basically, it sounds like Mr. Raar is completely obsessed with proving the corruption of the justice system and that they (the entire justice system) are out to get him because they do not want him to expose the issues with the system. I will try and post some information later this weekend based on what I have been told by Mrs. X and some snipits of letters she has sent me that she has received from Randall Raar. He is an interesting individual based on what I have read and what Mrs. X has told me. I cannot say I believe he is innocent of the charges that have been brought forth against him, yet I am also not really sure that there is not some validity to his claim that there has been some added effort to convict him based on the media coverage this case has received.
I have been told that his trial will begin this coming Monday related to all the charges that the State of Michigan has brought forth against him. I do not know what time or where, so if anyone knows and can enlighten me, please do so.
I would like to try and sit in to witness this and get a first-hand perspective of Raar and his case. If he is in fact guilty of the charges, I will have no sympathy for whatever the sentence is. Crimes against children are the worst crimes someone can commit by my standards. Any way you slice it though, from what I understand and will try to share with all of you, Raar kind of put himself in a position that could only lead to the authorities coming after him for something or other. When you associate heavily with ex-convicts and make poor choices in life you cannot expect to not have to watch over your shoulder or see some police at your door one day.
Anyway, as I said I will try to post more later this weekend and would really like to be at the trial if it does in fact start on Monday. If anyone else who reads this, and I see many hits from Detroit Free Press' IP address, knows Randall Raar personally and wants to provide their view of Raar or his case please feel free to zip me an e-mail. My point of posting this is to follow a case that is of interest to many people and try to paint a full picture of the man and the case in an effort to at least try and understand how or why this happens and what we as a society can do to avoid these cases in the future. Also, if there is an underlying story about issues with the justice system that would be something else to look into further. My guess is that there may have been a point of contention that has irked Raar from a past run in with the law and that is why he is compelled to prove the system is corrupt. It is not like prisoners ever say that they are innocent and that they were set up by the system when they are found guilty based on much evidence - oh wait, I guess that does happen:) Who knows? Every story usually has some bit of truth to it but usually it is spite that leads to these claims. I am more interested in whether there is a link to Raar and the Oakland Child Killer case from the 1970's.
Stay tuned.....

Randy feels he was railroaded and that the young girl that made the accusation told police in 90 that I didn't touch her.
Again, in 91 he said Randy did not touch her. NO both times.
And, the dam 'dungeon' was his late fathers old photo shop, but old Dad died in the 70's, so that room was used for storage. That family kept everything, down to twist ties in large bins; empty lipstick tubes, records forever! Randy is obsessive and some what wierd. There is much more to this than people know. I personally believe the DA wanted to FINALLY deal with Randy as he was like a mosquito, he would not give up!
