WTF? This story has been all over the news and it should be as this guy is a flamming wacko!

COVINGTON, Georgia (AP) -- A driver ran over three young children and two women in the parking lot of a McDonald's restaurant Tuesday, police said. One witness described the man as having a smile on his face.

Witnesses said the car went over a curb as the victims left the restaurant, hit them and the building before backing up and hitting them again, police said.

Barnes' mother, Mary, told The Associated Press that her son has battled mental illness.

"He's been suffering with depression for years," she said, her voice shaking after being contacted by telephone and told by a reporter what happened. "Lord have mercy."

Well it is no accident when you run people over - while smiling - and then back up to do it again. I am getting so tired of people using the "mental illness" or "on medication" excuse when people do bad things. It especially infuriates me when innocent children are hurt or killed because of it. If people are too ill to live in society with everyone else - most of whom are also on medication as we are a heavily medicated society - and they cannot remember to take their medicine, then they should be locked away in a mental health center. In this case, the driver should be sentenced to death. We as a society need not waste money on people like this to keep them alive and cared for. Lanny Barnes' stated "Lord have mercy," but I say screw the mercy and send this man to meet his maker.

The victims were identified as Anita King, 36, of North Carolina and 2-year-old daughter Avery Nicole King; and Stephanie Casola, 33, of Covington and her children, Jacob Paul, 4, and Isaac Raymond, 3.

I heard on the news tonight that the 2 year old girl, Avery Nicole King, passed away today from her injuries. My heart-felt sympathies go out to Avery and her family as no one deserves something like this to happen to them.
